The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and nonprofit organizations, including Four Directions and the Lakota People's Law Project, teamed up to get out the vote on Standing Rock Nation earlier this month. In the face of new voter ID laws meant to suppress the Native vote, the tribe issued 727 new IDs and more than doubled its turnout as compared to the prior midterm election. Four Directions led the ground campaign, putting 160 organizers on the streets to knock on doors before Election Day. Wopila!
